The vision of the research unit is to generate knowledge in human reproductive biology and hereby be a leading institution for implementing new treatments to benefit infertile couples. This is carried out through careful handling of patients, research projects, teaching and international collaboration. A main research interest is the use of mild stimulation protocols to harvest oocytes for IVF treatments. Additionally, we conduct research in oocyte morphology in order to assess oocyte quality, as well as registration procedures for optimizing artificial reproductive technologies such as IVF and ICSI. We also conduct studies on sperm and oocyte apoptosis and the relation between allergy and unexplained infertility. The focus in our research is on patient safety and increasing the accessibility of ART to all.
